On the contrary, in Pakistan and Bangladesh the number of majority has increased and the number of minorities has decreased.
Hindus have decreased
According to the report of the Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council, the number of Muslims and other minority communities has increased. At the same time, the population of majority Hindus has decreased. On the contrary, the number of majority in neighbouring country Pakistan has increased. The report of the Center for Peace and Justice came in the year 2022 regarding the number of minorities in Pakistan. It said that 22,10,566 people of minority Hindu community live in the country. This is 1.18 percent of the total population of Pakistan.The total registered population of Pakistan is 18,68,90,601. Of the number of registered people, 18,25,92,000 are Muslims. The report, based on data collected from the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), said religious minorities constitute less than five percent of Pakistan's total population, with Hindus being the largest minority community.
The report, which collected data on minorities receiving computerized national identity cards from NADRA, identified people of 17 different religions. Apart from those who believe in 17 religions, the total number of atheists in the country is 1,400. The report said the number of registered Hindus is 22,10,566, followed by Christians 18,73,348, Ahmadis 1,88,340, Sikhs 74,130, Bhesh 14,537 and Parsis 3,917. The report has also identified 11 minority communities whose numbers are less than 2,000.
Only six people of Jain religion in Pakistan
The report says that among the religious minorities numbering less than two thousand in Pakistan, there are Buddhists 1,787, Chinese 1,151, followers of Shinto religion 628, Jews 628, followers of African religion 1,418, followers of Kelasha religion 1,522 and only six followers of Jainism. The largest population of Hindu minorities in Pakistan is settled in Sindh province. 95 percent of the total Hindu population of the country lives in Sindh.Most of the Hindu population in Pakistan is poor and their representation in the country's institutions is also very low.
Majority of Muslims increased

The share of Christian population has increased from 2.24% to 2.36%. The population of Sikh community in the country has increased from 1.24% to 1.85%. At the same time, the majority of Muslims has increased in India's neighbours Pakistan and Bangladesh. Bangladesh saw the highest increase of 18.5%, followed by Pakistan (3.75%) and Afghanistan (0.29%)
