Nowadays the use of UPI transactions has become common. Through this, any payment is done in a few seconds. If you also use UPI service then there is important news for you. The National Payments Corporation of India has directed banks to remove those mobile numbers from April 1, 2025 which have been issued to someone else or have been closed, so that UPI transactions can be made more secure and wrong transactions can be prevented.
The rule will come into effect from April 1, 2025
NPCI has directed banks to remove such mobile numbers from April 1, 2025 which have been issued to someone else or have been closed so that UPI transactions can be made more secure and wrong transactions can be prevented. To prevent wrong UPI transactions, NPCI has directed banks and UPI payment service providers to update their systems regularly. This decision was taken in the NPCI meeting held on 16 July 2024, which will be implemented from 1 April 2025.
Banks and UPI apps will have to follow these rules
From April 1, 2025, banks and UPI apps will have to report to NPCI every month. In which information will have to be given about the number of UPI IDs linked to the mobile number, number of active users, number of UPI based transactions.
