There is good news for the devotees waiting for the darshan of Baba Barfani. This year i.e. 2024 Amarnath Yatra will start from June 29 which will last for about 52 days. Meanwhile, the first pictures of Amarnath cave and the holy Shivalinga have surfaced. The ice Shivalinga is about 8 feet high. The view of Amarnath covered with white snow looks like heaven.
In the pictures, the holy Shivalinga can be seen in its full form and the area around the holy cave is also covered with heavy snow. Snow removal work is going on in full swing on the Amarnath Yatra route and around the cave as the registration for this year Amarnath Yatra 2024 has already started.
Devotees of this age will get a chance to travel
Let us tell you that age limit has been fixed for Amarnath Yatra. The minimum age of the person going on the journey should be between 13 years to 75 years. Along with this, women with more than six months of pregnancy will not be allowed to travel.
Know about both the routes of Amarnath Yatra
Pahalgam Route
It takes about 3 to 5 days to reach the cave via Pahalgam route, but this route is easy. Pahalgam is the base camp of the Amarnath trek, at a distance of 47 km from the Amarnath cave. All travelers can travel from Pahalgam to Amarnath on foot. The first halt is about 16 km from the base camp at Chandanwari after which the real trek begins. The next stop is Pissu Top at 3 km after which, you reach Sheshnag at a distance of 9 km.
After Sheshnag comes Panjtarni, which is 14 km away. After walking another 6 km, you will reach Amarnath caves.

Baltal Route
If time is short, then you can go through Baltal route for Baba Amarnath darshan. It involves climbing only 14 km, but it is only steep, hence the elderly face difficulty on this route. There are narrow roads and dangerous turns on this route.
Things to keep in mind
Carry medical certificate, 4 passport size photographs, Aadhar card, RFID card, travel application form with you during Amarnath Yatra. Along with this, for physical fitness, practice walking 4 to 5 kilometers every day. Do breathing yoga and exercise.
Amarnath weather
The weather of Amarnath cannot be predicted. It may rain or snow at any time during the journey. The weather gets extremely cold, so it is very important that you cover yourself well with warm clothes.
