A heart-wrenching incident has come to light from Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh. Here 10 newborns died due to fire in the NICU of Maharani Laxmibai Medical College, while about 47 newborns have been rescued. The incident happened around 10:30 pm. First a fire broke out due to sparking in the oxygen concentrator, then there was an explosion. After this the fire spread in the entire ward. On information, 6 fire brigade vehicles reached and controlled the fire.
There was a stampede in the hospital
After the fire, there was a stampede in the hospital. After the fire, patients and many children admitted here were evacuated by breaking the window. The commissioner of Jhansi said that the fire started due to short circuit, in which 10 children died. At present the investigation of the case is going on.
Announcement of compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased children
As soon as CM Yogi Adityanath came to know about this incident, he posted on the social media platform and told that the district administration and the concerned officials have been instructed to carry out rescue operations. We pray to Lord Shri Ram to grant peace to the departed souls and speedy recovery of the injured. Along with this, Yogi has announced to give Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased. Rs 50,000 each will be given to the families of the injured.
How did the fire start?
The cause of the fire is being told to be an electric short circuit. Due to the fire, the cylinders lying there also exploded and a big accident happened. On the other hand, if these two things had happened in the hospital, then 10 innocent lives could have been saved.
Safety equipment
According to reports, the staff could not know about the fire and cylinder explosion, because the alarms of the hospital were not working. If the alarms had rung, the staff could have come out with the children. After seeing the smoke coming out, there was a noise, by then the situation had gone out of control. The fire extinguishing equipment in the hospital was also not working properly. They were of no use. If there were good and working safety equipment inside the hospital, the children's lives could have been saved.
Second exit gate
Reports say that the children's ward of Maharani Laxmibai Medical College in Jhansi had only one exit gate. Through this, the firemen went in one by one and could bring out only 2-3 children at a time. If the ward had a second exit gate, more firemen could have gone in and more children could have been saved.
