For the last two months, it is being heard that if the KYC of Fastag is not updated by the bank, then after March 31, the bank will deactivate or blacklist the Fastag without KYC. After which payment will not be made even if there is balance. If there is no KYC, your Fastag will not work at the toll plaza.
Let us tell you that the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has fixed the last date for Fastag KYC as March 31, 2024. To pass through the toll plaza, it is necessary for all four-wheelers and big vehicles to have Fastag. Since the introduction of Fastag, it has helped in getting rid of long lines at toll plazas. Vehicles fitted with Fastag now pass through the toll booth immediately and toll tax is also deducted.
What is Fastag?
Fastag is a radio frequency identification tag which is installed on the windscreen of the vehicle. It is linked to a prepaid account which is recharged. There is no need to stop to pay toll tax when you cross the toll plaza. The machine at the toll booth scans the card and deducts the money. According to the rules, every four-wheeler and big vehicles should have Fastag.

Login with mobile number and one time password (OTP)
Go to My Profile tab on the homepage and click on KYC tab
Keep important documents like vehicle registration certificate (RC), driving license (DL), address proof, ID proof and photograph with you.
Fill and update all required information
To do Fastag KYC from the bank portal, you will have to go to the website of the bank that has issued your Fastag. Go to the website and check the Fastag section and complete the Fastag KYC by logging in.
You can update Fastag KYC through offline method also. For this you will have to go to the branch of the bank which has issued Fastag. Be sure to take important documents with you.
Why is Fastag KYC important?
People who do not complete KYC of Fastag by March 31, 2024 may have to face many problems. Fastags without KYC will be closed and you will not be able to use them at toll plazas. Apart from this, there will be no recharge nor will any refund be given. The money left in Fastag will also become useless.
