Singer Sharda Sinha, who became famous for Chhath songs, died on Tuesday (5 November) at 9:20 pm in Delhi AIIMS. She left the world on the first day of Chhath Mahaparva. She was admitted to AIIMS, Delhi on 21 October. On November 3, when her condition improved, she was shifted to a private ward. But on the evening of November 4, her oxygen level started falling, after which she was on ventilator.

Her body is being brought to Patna today (Wednesday) by Indigo flight at 9:40 am. It will be kept for last darshan in Patna after 12 noon. Padma Bhushan awardee 72-year-old Sharda Sinha was famous for Maithili and Bhojpuri songs. Her famous songs include 'Vivah Geet' and 'Chhath Geet'.
