Encounter continues between security forces and terrorists in the forests of Patnitop in Jammu and Kashmir. Intermittent firing continued from both sides till late night. Security forces have surrounded the entire area. This is the fourth encounter in five days. On August 11, there was firing between terrorists and security forces in the forests of Kishtwar district. On Saturday, Havildar Deepak Kumar Yadav and Lance Naik Praveen Sharma were martyred due to firing by terrorists in Kokarnag, Anantnag. 3 soldiers and 2 civilians were injured.
August 1 - An infiltration attempt was made by Pakistan in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. However, BSF soldiers already killed the intruder. The intruder did not stop even after warning from BSF soldiers, after which he was killed in firing. The identity and motive of the intruder are not known. According to the information received, the intruder was crossing the zero line of the India-Pakistan border, which was a violation of the border protocol.
August 5 – Two groups of infiltrators were spotted near the LOC in Akhnoor and Sunderbani sectors of Jammu and Kashmir. After which the army soldiers opened fire. A search operation was conducted in the surrounding area.
27th July-A Pakistani terrorist was killed in the jungle area near Machil sector. Rifleman Mohit Rathore was martyred and 4 soldiers including Major were injured in the encounter. Quoting Defense Department sources, it was said that Pakistani Border Action Team (BAT) was infiltrating the terrorists. SSG commandos along with BAT and Pakistani Army soldiers were sending terrorists to Kashmir along with terrorist organizations.
July 18 - Army had killed 2 terrorists in an encounter on July 18 in Keran area of Kupwara, Jammu and Kashmir.The army had received information about some terrorists hiding here, after which a search operation was conducted. During this time the encounter between terrorists and army started. Two soldiers were injured in this.
6, 7 July - There was firing between security forces and terrorists in Mudragham and Chinnigham Frisal. Six terrorists were killed by security forces in the encounter. Two soldiers were also martyred. According to officials, the slain terrorists were associated with Hizbul Mujahideen. One of them was the local commander of a terrorist organization linked to Pakistan.
June 26 - On June 26, three terrorists were killed by security forces in Gandoh area of Doda district. After receiving information that 2-3 terrorists were hiding in the area in the morning, the police and army had launched a search operation, after which the encounter started at 9.50 am.
