ED has issued a summons to Sanjay Singh's close associates. Sarvesh Mishra and Vivek Tyagi, close to Sanjay Singh, have been summoned. So that they can conduct the interrogation face-to-face. According to the report, Sanjay Singh had given Rs 1 crore to Sarvesh. The court has sent Sanjay Singh on remand for five days. In such a situation, the ED has to collect evidence in this case.
Who is Sarvesh Mishra?
Sarvesh Mishra has been a youth associate of Sanjay Singh since the time of his movement. Sarvesh Mishra has also been given the responsibility of spokesperson in the Aam Aadmi Party. He is also very active on social media and shares all the posts of Sanjay Singh. Sarvesh Mishra also plays an important role for Sanjay Singh in the functioning of Parliament.
Who is Vivek Tyagi?
Vivek Tyagi has been an important part of Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh's team since the beginning, while Vivek Tyagi is holding the responsibility of district in-charge in Hapur. Vivek Tyagi has been associated with Sanjay Singh since the beginning of the movement. Sanjay Singh is also in charge of Uttar Pradesh.
The court sent him on remand for five days
The arrested Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh has been sent to ED custody till October 10. ED had demanded 10 days of custody in the case. However, the court raised many questions before the ED during the hearing. Sanjay Singh was produced under tight security in Rouse Avenue Court. ED sought 10-day remand of Sanjay Singh saying that he is completely involved in the case.
ED lawyer's arguments
ED's lawyer said that many documents have been found in Sanjay's house. Remand should be given to interrogate the witnesses and other accused face to face.
The court has asked the ED, have you taken possession of the phone? When the ED lawyer said yes, the court said that when you have the phone, then what is the need to have a face-to-face meeting with the accused? You can extract the data anyway. If there is evidence then why the delay in arrest? ED's lawyer said that the arrest was made on the basis of statements from witnesses. The statements of the witnesses have just been taken and they have become government witnesses.
Witness Dinesh Arora is close to Sanjay Singh. ED has raided 239 places in the case. It is alleged that a transaction worth two crores took place at Sanjay's house twice. Sarvesh, close to Sanjay, has taken the money. Data has been found from Sanjay Singh's phone.
If I am guilty then I should be punished - Sanjay Singh
Sanjay Singh's lawyer Mohit Mathur said that ED does not have a single evidence. This is a political matter. Despite the investigation continuing for a year, no evidence was presented before the court. His client has been implicated in a fake case on the basis of the statement of the only witness, Dinesh Arora. Arora was earlier arrested by CBI and ED. He suddenly became a witness. How can his statement be trusted?
Another accused is accused of taking Rs 3 crore and the ED did not even oppose his anticipatory bail. He said - ED searched the MP's house for eight hours, in which no evidence was found. Most importantly, the statement of Sarvesh who is accused of taking money was not even recorded. He said that ED has not yet given him a copy of the remand application. ED should be instructed to give a copy of the remand.
Sanjay Singh said before the court that I am not such an unknown person that the witness did not remember my name. Even Dinesh Arora did not remember my name. What happened suddenly was that he gave the entire statement against me. If it is my fault then punish me. During his appearance in court, ED did not allow him to talk to the media. However, while going to the court, Sanjay Singh said that it is an injustice on the part of Modi ji. Modi ji is losing the elections that is why he is doing this.
