Munger University has postponed examinations due to floods in Bihar. Due to rising water level of Ganga river, 12.67 lakh population in Buxar, Bhojpur, Saran, Vaishali, Patna, Samastipur, Begusarai, Lakhisarai, Munger, Khagaria, Bhagalpur and Katihar are affected by the floods.
Heavy rain alert in 16 states
Due to floods, apart from Ganga, the water level of Kosi, Budhi Gandak, Gandak, Ghaghra, Punpun and Son rivers has been flowing above the danger mark for the last 3 days. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in 16 states including Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Goa.
Temperature close to 40 degrees in Rajasthan
After the rains stopped in Rajasthan, the temperature has started rising again. Also, the temperature in the districts of western Rajasthan reached close to 40 degrees on Sunday. The heat during the day in Jaisalmer, Ganganagar and Bikaner has made the condition of people miserable. The heat wave has started again in the areas of western Rajasthan, and the temperature is being recorded between 39-40ºC. Monsoon is expected to leave here in the next few days.
Heavy rain alert in some parts of Himachal Pradesh
There is a possibility of rain in Himachal Pradesh for the next 2 days. Heavy rain alert has been issued in some parts of the state, which has also increased the risk of landslides. People have been advised to be cautious in hilly areas. Rain continues in many hill cities of the state including Shimla, Manali.
