Deputy Commissioner of Police Ankur Gupta has issued new orders in Jalandhar saying that a complete ban has been imposed on the drivers who make technical changes in the silencer and burst firecrackers etc. while driving the Bullet motorcycle within the limits of the Commissionerate Police. Orders have also been issued that no shopkeeper will sell silencer manufactured contrary to the standards set by the auto company and no technical change will be made in the silencer by any mechanic.
Along with this, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, through another order, has also banned carrying any type of weapon like baseball, sharp weapon, sharp weapon or any deadly weapon in the vehicle within the jurisdiction of the Commissionerate Police. Similarly, taking out any kind of procession, carrying weapons at functions, gathering of five or more persons and raising slogans has also been banned in the jurisdiction of the Commissionerate Police.
He has banned carrying of weapons by the public in banquet halls, marriage palaces and other social functions of all marriage palaces/hotels falling under the jurisdiction of Police Commissionerate. Along with this, the owners have been instructed to install CCTV.

According to the order issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, the owners of any hotel, guest house etc. will not accommodate any person/traveller without his identity. Also, a valid photo identity card of every passenger staying in hotels and accommodation etc., issued to him by the competent authority, self-attested photocopy of which should be retained by that person/passenger as a record. Apart from verifying the mobile number of the traveller, record of the resident/traveller should be maintained on the register in the given proforma.Information regarding the passengers staying in hotels, guest houses and hostels etc. should be sent to the concerned Chief Officer Police Station every day at 10 am and the records recorded in the register regarding the passengers staying should be verified and the records should be made available to the police if required. Further, whenever a foreigner stays in any hotel and guest house, information in this regard should be given to the Incharge Foreigner Registration Office, Commissioner Police Office, Jalandhar. Apart from this, CCTV cameras should also be installed in the corridors, lifts, reception counters and main entrances of hotels, guest houses and inns. Along with this, all these orders will remain in force till 13 April 2024.
