A hearing was held in the Supreme Court on Monday regarding the farmers' movement. During this hearing, Punjab government lawyer Kapil Sibal appeared. During the hearing, he said that farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal has agreed to meet the committee formed by the court.
Next hearing will be on January 10
Kapil Sibal said in the Supreme Court that we have convinced the agitating farmers to meet the committee chairman, retired Justice Nawab Singh. It is hoped that some positive things will come out of this meeting. Now the next hearing of this case will go on January 10.
Dallewal had decided to talk to the Center
Earlier, Dallewal had written a letter to the committee chairman, retired Justice Nawab Singh, saying that his delegation had met the Supreme Court committee on 4 November 2024, but the committee did not get time to come to Shambhu and Khanauri border. Were they waiting for my death. After which he refused to meet the committee and decided to talk only to the central government.
Dallewal has been on a hunger strike for 42 days
Let us tell you that farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal has been on a hunger strike for 42 days at Khanauri border. There is a contempt petition against the Punjab government for not admitting Jagjit Dallewal to the hospital. In the last hearing on January 2, the Supreme Court had asked to keep both the cases together.
