Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had a meeting with the Sugarcane Control Board (SCB). In the meeting, it was decided to fulfill the promise of increasing the price of sugarcane per quintal. The government can make this announcement during the winter session of the Punjab Assembly. During this period, sugar mill owners also participated.
In fact, during the four-day-long protest, the farmers demanded an increase in the price of sugarcane. Recently, CM Mann called farmer leaders and discussed this. During this, a promise was made to take a decision on increasing the prices of sugarcane soon.
CM had given assurance
CM Mann said that the state government has always been giving the highest price of sugarcane in the whole of India. This will still continue. After four days of protest, the farmers opened the railways and main roads on the assurance of CM Mann.
The Haryana government is giving Rs 386 per quintal
Earlier the price of sugarcane in Punjab was Rs 380 per quintal. In Haryana, the government increased the per quintal price of sugarcane to Rs 386. After this, the farmers of Punjab also started demanding an increase in the State Agreed Price in the state. When the demands of the farmers were not heard, they staged a sit-in on the Jalandhar, Jammu, and Delhi National Highway.
