All petitions for Panchayat elections rejected
The Punjab State Election Commission had announced the schedule for Panchayat elections in the state on 25 September. According to this, the time for filing nominations for the post of Panch and Sarpanch has been fixed from 27 to 4 October. However, 170 petitions related to the elections were filed in Punjab and Haryana. Which was rejected by the Punjab and Haryana High Court and said that the elections will be held on October 15 only.
