An Air India flight received a bomb threat on Tuesday. After receiving information about the incident, security officials searched the entire flight but did not find anything suspicious. Investigation revealed that the passenger had given fake information by calling Air India's call centre at 1:22 am.
Investigation turns out to be a rumour
Kochi Airport spokesperson issued a statement. He said in this statement, Air India call center in Mumbai received the threat of bomb in aircraft AI 149. The flight was going from Kochi to London Gatwick. Kochi Airport and Air India were alerted and the Bomb Squad immediately reached the airport and carried out checking. But no suspicious object was found.
The name of the person giving fake information is Suhaib (29). He is a resident of Malappuram, Kerala. He has been handed over to the police. Suhaib was checking in at the departure department of Kochi airport with his wife and child when the security personnel caught him.
13 year old child sent threat to bomb the flight
Let us tell you that earlier on Sunday, a 13-year-old boy was detained for sending a bomb threat mail at Delhi Airport. Regarding this, the police said that the child had sent this mail for entertainment.
41 airports had received bomb threats
On June 19, 41 airports were threatened with bomb attacks. Apart from PM Narendra Modi's parliamentary constituency Varanasi, 41 airports including Chennai, Patna and Jaipur had received bomb threat e-mails. After which the police and bomb squad reached the airport and did checking. But after several hours of investigation it came to light that all these e-mails were wrong.
