Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has made a big announcement in the Punjab Assembly. During this, MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap asked him whether Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar is planning to update its educational standards? Responding to this, the Education Minister said that he is adding new courses to the university every year. The university is starting 15 new courses, dual degree programs, collaboration with foreign universities, multiple entry and multiple exit and other courses.
Big announcement for students
The Education Minister further said that in this year's budget, he has announced Rs 1600 crore for Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar. He also said that the university should not be limited to just giving degrees but should also work on research and AI. The university also has an AI lab. If we talk about today's time, Guru Nanak Dev University Amritsar is the number 1 government university in the country. Apart from this, we are also starting 40 Hunar Schools for school students so that if a student gets a certificate of passing 10th or 12th, he/she can also get a skill certificate.
Students will get good salary
The Education Minister has informed that Maharaja Ranjit Singh Technical University will start the country's first engineering course in Bathinda. 80% of the course will be related to industry. MBBS students have to attend lectures in college for 2 hours in the morning and then treat patients in the hospital for 10 hours. Engineering education will also start in the same way. Students will get good experience and they will be able to work on good salary in future.
