Waris Punjab De organization chief Amritpal Singh, who is lodged in Assam's Dibrugarh jail, has filed a petition in the Punjab-Haryana High Court to file nomination from Khadur Sahib Lok Sabha seat of Punjab. In this, Amritpal has asked for 7 days' time to file nomination.
It is noteworthy that Amritpal, who is in jail, wants to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Khadur Sahib seat. That is why they have sought 7 days' extension from the Punjab-Haryana High Court to complete the nomination process.
Nominations will be filled till May 14
Let us tell you that the nomination process for Lok Sabha elections in Punjab has started from Tuesday. Candidates can submit their nomination papers till May 14 while the scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on May 15 and the last date for withdrawal of nomination is May 17.
