This year the Amarnath Yatra (Pilgrimage to Amarnath) is going to start from 3 July. This time the Amarnath Yatra will be of total 38 days. The Amarnath Yatra will conclude on 9 August. This time Shiva devotees will be able to visit Baba Barfani for only 38 days. The dates of the Yatra were officially announced in the meeting of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board.
Know the route of Amarnath Dham
The journey to Baba Amarnath Dham is done through two main routes. Its first route is from Pahalgam and the second from Sonamarg Baltal. Along with this, devotees have to cross this route on foot. The distance from Pahalgam to Amarnath is about 28 kilometers. This route is a little easier and convenient. While the distance from Baltal to Amarnath is about 14 kilometers, but this route is more difficult than the first route.
Know about both the routes of Amarnath Yatra
Pahalgam Route
It takes about 3 to 5 days to reach the cave from the Pahalgam route, but this route is easy. Pahalgam is the base camp of Amarnath Trek, which is 47 km away from the Amarnath cave. All pilgrims can travel from Pahalgam to Amarnath on foot. The first stop is about 16 km from the base camp of Chandanwari after which the actual trek begins. The next stop is Pissu Top at 3 km after which, you reach Sheshnag at a distance of 9 km.
After Sheshnag comes Panjtarni, which is 14 km away. After walking 6 km more, you will reach the Amarnath cave.

Baltal route
If you have less time, you can go to Baba Amarnath Darshan through Baltal route. It has only 14 km of climbing, but it is only a steep climb, so the elderly face problems on this route. There are narrow paths and dangerous turns on this route.
What to keep in mind
During Amarnath Yatra, keep medical certificate, 4 passport size photos, Aadhar card, RFID card, travel application form with you. Along with this, for physical fitness, practice walking 4 to 5 kilometers every day. Do breathing yoga and exercise.
