Said this regarding claim settlement
According to the report released on February 20, it was said that EPFO has rejected every third claim received by it. Many customers have registered their complaints related to delay in claim settlement on the official email handle of EPFO.
The Provident Fund Organization of India is the world's largest social security organization with over 277 million accounts and a corpus of approximately Rs 20 lakh crore. 15.62 lakh members joined EPFO in December 2023
According to payroll data released on February 20, EPFO reported a net increase of 15.62 lakh members in December 2023. This is an increase of 4.62 percent from December 2022.
Most of the new members are women
The Ministry of Labor and Employment released a gender-wise analysis of the payroll data, which revealed that out of the total 7.72 lakh new members added during the month, about 2.04 lakh new members are women, joining the EPFO for the first time. The ministry's statement said that the number of net female members during this month was about 3.03 lakh, which is about 15 percent more as compared to the same month last year.
The Labor Ministry said the monthly payroll data will include the count of members joining EPFO for the first time through Aadhaar validated Universal Account Number (UAN), existing members exiting the coverage of EPFO and those who exited but rejoined as members. They are taken to reach the net.
