Heavy rain is expected in many areas of Punjab today, due to which the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in five districts of the state. These include Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr and Rupnagar.
Chance of rain in other districts too
At the same time, there is a possibility of rain in other districts as well. There has been no change in the average temperature. It is 1.9 degrees above normal temperature. The highest temperature in the state was recorded at 38.1 degrees in Faridkot. In the rest of the districts, the temperature has been between 33 and 38 degrees.
Now the month of August has started but even after this the monsoon is weak. However, it is definitely raining in the surrounding areas of Himachal Pradesh.While in other districts people are facing heat and humidity. On Tuesday, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar recorded 0.5 mm of rain, Rupnagar 4.5, Bhakra Dam area 2.5, Moga 0.5 and Fatehgarh Sahib 1.0 mm.
Less rain in 9 districts
86 percent less rain has been recorded in 9 districts in the first week of August. These include Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, SBS Nagar, Barnala, Sangrur, Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala and Mohali.
Temperature of major cities of Punjab
Amritsar- On Tuesday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 35.4 degrees. Today will be partly cloudy, there is a chance of rain. The temperature will be between 28 and 34 degrees.
Jalandhar - The temperature was recorded at 36.0 degrees on Tuesday evening. Today will be cloudy and there is a chance of rain. The temperature will be between 27 and 34 degrees.
Patiala- The maximum temperature was recorded at 35.2 degrees on Tuesday. Today will be cloudy and there is a chance of rain. The temperature will be between 27 and 33 degrees.
Mohali- Last days maximum temperature was recorded at 35.7 degrees. Light clouds will prevail. Today the temperature may be between 30 and 36 degrees.
