A woman broke the security check and reached the building of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi temple with a pistol. This incident is of the night of 14-15 March 2025. The woman has been identified as Jyoti Gupta. At present, the police have arrested the woman and seized the weapon.
According to the information, the license of the weapon had also expired. At present, an FIR has been lodged in the police station building in Katra, a case has been registered under the Arms Act.

According to the Shrine Board, the donations of pilgrims to the temple have increased significantly in the last 5 years. He told that in the financial year 2024-25 (till January) the amount of donations has reached Rs 171.90 crore, which is much higher than the financial year 2020-21.

2020-21: Rs 63.85 crore
2021-22: Rs 166.68 crore
2022-23: Rs 223.12 crore
2023-24: Rs 231.50 crore
2024-25 (till January): Rs 171.90 crore
