Weather is changing in Punjab-Chandigarh. The effect of cold wave is visible in these cities. At the same time, the temperature is continuously falling. If the Meteorological Department is to be believed, the effect of cold wave will be seen in North India till December 24.

The temperature in Ferozepur, Punjab has been recorded below 1 degree. Apart from this, there are 11 districts where the minimum temperature is less than 5 degrees.
Cold wave alert issued
If the Meteorological Center is to be believed, cold wave alert has been issued in other states of Punjab along with Chandigarh. Cold wave alert has been issued in Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Faridkot and Rupnagar. Here the temperature can reach below or close to 5 degrees, while the weather will be clear in other parts of Punjab.
Wind speed also reduced
According to the Meteorological Department, the wind is moving from the mountains to the plains. Due to this, the effect of cold wave is visible in Punjab and Chandigarh and people are shivering in the cold. Apart from this, the wind speed has also reduced considerably. In the last few days, the wind speed was around 10 kilometers, whereas now it has reached 4 kilometers per hour.
Yellow alert regarding fog
Due to low wind speed, the effect of fog will be seen in the plains of Punjab. In Punjab, fog alert has also been issued in Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Muktsar and Faridkot. Visibility in these cities will be between 50 to 100 meters.
