Meanwhile, the date of this league to be held next year has been announced. Next year, this tournament will be played from March 14 to May 25. Not only next year, but the date of 2026 and 2027 seasons has also been announced.
Pakistan did not get a chance
While the IPL will start from March 15 in the year 2026, the final will be played on May 31. Apart from this, in the year 2027, this league will start from March 14 and will run till May 30. Foreign players of most full member countries have got permission from their boards to play in the IPL for the next three seasons. This does not include Pakistan, whose players have not got a chance to play in the IPL since 2008.
74 matches will be played in the league
Like the last three seasons, 74 matches will be played in the 2025 season. Cricket Australia has approved all its international and domestic players to play in IPL 2025. However, in 2026, Australia has to play a three-match ODI series in Pakistan, which Cricket Australia has revealed will end before March 18.
Players from many countries available
Australian players will join IPL 2026 after the series against Pakistan. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has also submitted a list of players who have got 18 central contracts who will be available for the next three seasons. Apart from Australia and England, players from South Africa, New Zealand, West Indies, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe will also be fully available for the next three seasons.
IPL auction will be held in Jeddah
Ahead of IPL 2025 to be held next year, a mega auction will be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25. The fate of players like Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Mitchell Starc and Glenn Maxwell is at stake. A total of 574 players will participate in this mega auction. Out of 574 players, 366 are Indians and 208 are foreigners, including 3 players from associate countries.
