A female police employee has been arrested in Bathinda, Punjab. While the Punjab government and police are running a campaign against drugs, their own police employee has been caught red-handed with drugs. The Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANxTF) has arrested a female police officer posted in Bathinda Police Line with 17 grams of heroin.
She was under the police's watch for a long time
The accused female employee has been identified as Amandeep Kaur. She is a resident of village Chakk Fateh Singh Wala, district Bathinda. The police have registered a case against the accused woman in Police Station Canal. Sources say that Amandeep Kaur was on the radar of ANTF for a long time. The female police employee was being monitored for the last several days.
17 grams of heroin recovered
On Wednesday, when the accused woman came out of the police line after her duty, the ANTF team chased her car as they had a strong information that the woman had narcotics in her Thar. She was stopped at Ladli Beti Chowk, where 17 grams of heroin was recovered after searching the car.
The accused woman tried to escape
During the arrest, the woman police personnel tried to escape to save herself. However, the women police present there caught her. The accused tried to call influential contacts to seek help, but the police seized her mobile.
Contact with influential people
Initial investigation has revealed that Amandeep Kaur has good connections. She had good connections with high-ranking police officers and political leaders. Earlier also, she was transferred to Mansa due to a case registered against her. But after some time, she came back to Bathinda Police Line with the help of recommendations. The police have continued further investigation against her and are trying to find out which larger network she was associated with.
