In recent years, India's relations with the Gulf countries have seen a significant improvement. Qatar is the fifth country among the Gulf Cooperation Council countries after Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman and Kuwait with which India has signed a strategic partnership agreement. This is being discussed all over the world.
The recent visit of Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to India has caught the world's attention. Thani's visit was important because during this time India and Qatar transformed their relationship into a strategic partnership. In recent years, India's relations with Gulf countries have improved. Not only Qatar, countries like Saudi Arabia and UAE are also coming closer to India. There is a concern in Pakistan over this. Pakistani political commentators have raised the question as to why their country is losing its importance in Arab countries.
In his video, Qamar Cheema said that when Qatar's Emir Thani arrived, he was given a grand welcome. Narendra Modi himself reached the airport to receive him and he was given a guard of honour. This welcome was not just in front of the media but very important agreements were also made in business and other areas between the two countries. It is clear from this that in the coming years, both countries will come closer. Cheema questioned the Pakistani government and said, 'We should ask ourselves why we are left behind. What is the reason that India has become the Arab world's favourite? We need to worry about why the Muslim world is not even asking about Pakistan.'
'Qatar-India signing deals worth billions of dollars'
Cheema said that Qatar has announced an investment of 10 billion US dollars in India. Both countries have set a target to double their business by 2030. Not only this, India's digital payment system will also be implemented in Qatar. That is, Qatar's National Bank will use India's online payment system. India has also decided to facilitate visas for Qatar. It is clear from this that the closeness between the people of both these countries will also increase.
Talking about Pakistan, Cheema said, 'India has made the situation such that now there is no country in Arab that speaks on our behalf. From whom we can get statements in our favor on Kashmir. We should think how things will be fine. We should not look at Arab countries as a way to get a few dollars. We should also have an equal relationship with them like India. We have to show the Arab countries that we also have something, only then they will come to our side.
Pakistan will have to work very hard
Cheema said that Arab countries have had good relations with Pakistan but we ourselves ruined these relations because we always kept demanding something or the other from them. Pakistan has always felt that if two countries believe in the same religion then that is enough but it is not so. Today the world is looking only at money. When Qatar, Saudi, Indonesia see the Indian market, they rush there. Pakistan needs to understand this reality and work hard to make a place for itself in the Arab world and the world.
