Smoke alert is still in force in Punjab today. Due to which the visibility is less than 50 meters even today. After snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, the weather in Punjab has started getting colder. Not much has changed in the last 24 hours. But in the next 5 days the temperature will drop by 2 to 5 degrees.
Haze and fog alert issued in 14 districts
According to the Meteorological Center, the effect of fog will be seen in 14 districts of Punjab, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Muktsar, Moga, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Barnala Mansa and Sangrur. Due to which a yellow alert has been issued here.
Slight relief after rain in Punjab
Chandigarh-Haryana winds are choking. The situation is such that Chandigarh has become a gas chamber. Pollution in Chandigarh is in the red zone and the maximum AQI there has been recorded at 382. Whereas in Punjab, people have got relief after light rain. Amritsar, whose condition was very bad, has now reached close to AQI 200 after the rain. Whereas AQI is being recorded below 200 in all the cities except Ludhiana and Amritsar.

Jalandhar recorded a maximum temperature of 27.9 degrees on Sunday. Today the temperature is expected to be between 13 to 24 degrees. Ludhiana recorded a maximum temperature of 22.6 degrees on Sunday. Today the temperature is expected to be between 15 to 23 degrees. Patiala recorded a maximum temperature of 24.4 degrees on Sunday. Today the temperature is expected to be between 14 to 27 degrees.
Schools closed up to class 5 in 5 districts of Haryana
At the same time, orders have been issued to close primary schools in 5 districts due to dense fog and haze in Haryana. These districts include Rohtak, Sonipat, Nuh, Jhajjar and Panipat. These districts fall in Delhi-NCR.
