Misuse of government vehicles
During investigation, it has come to light that AIG Sidhu had misused the government vehicle Ertiga (PB-65-AD-1905) and had spent the oil and other expenses of the vehicle from the government account. He never maintained a record (log-book) of the use of the said vehicle, which is misuse of government property.
Accused Balveer Singh, at the behest of AIG Sidhu, lodged complaints against the employees recruited under Scheduled Caste and Freedom Fighters quota in various departments, so that they could be blackmailed by putting pressure on them and taking bribe in return. Later, Balveer Singh, Malvinder Singh and other accused used to divide the amount among themselves.
This is the matter
AIG Sidhu, his associate Balveer Singh and other accused are involved in this case. It is noteworthy that AIG Sidhu is already in judicial custody. During investigation, it was revealed that AIG Sidhu wrongly described himself as IGP, Vigilance Bureau, Punjab, whereas he had never been AIG or IG in Vigilance Bureau Punjab after 2017.
The said accused Balveer Singh and others together started filing complaints against government employees so as to blackmail them and extort money from them in return for withdrawal of these complaints.
