Indian Railways is going to start Vande Bharat Express train service for Srinagar. This new Vande Bharat train is being launched between Katra and Srinagar in the month of February. Vande Bharat train from Katra to Kashmir will run from February 17. PM Modi himself will flag off the Vande Bharat train.
At present from Katra to Srinagar, later from Jammu to Srinagar
Initially this train will run between Katra and Srinagar. After a few months the route will be extended from Jammu to Srinagar. On this route the train will complete the journey in about two and a half to three hours. Now the journey to Kashmir will be even easier, cheaper and exciting.
Vande Bharat will run between Katra and Srinagar
This train will operate between Katra and Srinagar
Passengers coming from Delhi or other cities will have to first reach Katra and then from there take Vande Bharat train to Srinagar.
Separate tickets will have to be booked for Delhi to Katra and Katra to Srinagar.
Specially designed train
This train has been designed according to the weather of Kashmir. It will be able to run smoothly even in -30 degree Celsius temperature.
The train will have only chair car coaches, which include general chair car and executive chair car. Train fare AC chair car ₹1500 to ₹1700, executive chair car ₹2400 to ₹2600
Where are the stoppages
This train will stop at major stations like Reasi, Bakkal, Dugga, Sawalkot, Sangaldan, Sumber, Khari, Banihal, Qazigund, Sadura, Anantnag, Bijbehara, Panzgam, Awantipora, Ratnipora, Kakapora and Pampore.
