The Local Government Department has extended the time for Municipal Corporation elections in Punjab due to non-completion of ward demarcation. It has also been said that if anyone has any objection then they can inform the body department by 7th November. If there are any objections, they can be withdrawn till 17th November. After this, orders have been given to publish the final voter list on 21st November.
This related notification has been issued by the government. Now municipal corporation elections can be held in the first week of January next year or in the last week of December. Before the municipal elections, the government conducts ward demarcation, in which it is decided whether a street should be shifted to a new ward or not.
Elections will not be held till November 15
Along with this, it is also seen that the ward has been upgraded, but till now the local government department has not been successful in getting this done. For this reason, these elections will not be held till November 15.
