The Odisha government has made a big announcement, let us tell you that the government will give 20 thousand rupees every month to the people who went to jail during the emergency, a notification has been issued by the state's home department, in which it was said that the state government will bear all the medical expenses of the people who went to jail during the emergency. Medical service will be made available to any person who is alive.

This scheme of Odisha government will be effective from January 1, CM Mohan Charan Majhi had also taken oath on Independence Day to implement this pension scheme. According to the information received, it has been found that before Odisha, these schemes are implemented in many states including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan and Assam. These people will get the benefit
People arrested during the Emergency from 25 June 1975 to 21 March 1977 under the Internal Security Act, Defence of India Rules (DIR) and Defence of India and Internal Security Rules will be eligible to apply for this pension. It is being said that more than 300 people will be eligible to apply in Odisha, for which the government will have to bear an annual expenditure of Rs 8 crore. If any person commits fraud, then the amount paid to them will be recovered with an annual interest of 12%. Let us tell you that hundreds of people were put in jail for opposing the Emergency, in such a situation, any person who is alive will be given pension, no matter how long he was in jail.

The Odisha government also issued a press release regarding this, in which it is said that a person who was in jail during the emergency situation between 15 June 1975 and 21 March 1977 under the 1971 Act or DIR (Defense of India Rules) or DISIR (Defense and Internal Security of India Rules) will get the benefit of this special facility.
People who were in jail during the emergency will get a pension of 20 thousand rupees per month, along with this the government will bear the cost of their treatment.
Apart from this, the government has also informed that this facility is applicable from January 1.
