Monsoon has arrived in Punjab. Monsoon will become active in most parts of Punjab in the coming 2-3 days. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has also issued an alert regarding rain and storm in the coming days.
The Indian Meteorological Department said that there may be heavy rain in northwest India for the next four to five days. The department has also expressed the possibility of wind and lightning along with rain.
The department said the monsoon has reached most parts of Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Kashmir, Jammu and Delhi as well as parts of Punjab and Haryana.
There will be heavy rain till July 1
The department said that conditions are perfect for the monsoon to advance into Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and other parts of Jammu and towards Chandigarh and it will reach here in the next 2-3 days.The department said that Himachal Pradesh may receive heavy rains on June 29 and 30, Punjab on June 30 and July 1 and Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi from June 29 to July 1.
4 months worth of rain in one day in Delhi
Monsoon made a heart-wrenching entry in Delhi a day earlier. 9 inches of rain fell in 24 hours, the second highest rainfall in a single day after 9.27 inches in June 1936. With this, the quota of not only June but also from March till now i.e. 4 months has been completed.
