The Central Government has approved the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of 14 crops for the Kharif season. This decision has been taken in the cabinet meeting. The government says that the objective of increasing MSP is to provide better prices to farmers for their produce and make the agriculture sector more profitable. Now regarding this, farmer leaders held a press conference in Chandigarh and said that our demand is for legal guarantee of MSP.
MSP is a minimum price fixed by the central government. On this, the government gives guarantee to the farmers to buy their produce. Let us tell you that in MSP, the price of paddy has been increased by Rs 117 per quintal, the price of moong by Rs 124 per quintal. By increasing the minimum support price, farmers will get fair price for their crops and their income will increase.
Our demand is legal guarantee of MSP – farmer leader
Now the statement of farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher has come on this. He said that our demand is a legal guarantee of MSP from the government. If MSP is announced then it can also be purchased.

MSP increased so much on paddy and cotton
The new MSP of paddy has been made Rs 2,300, which is Rs 117 more than the previous MSP. The new MSP of cotton has been approved at Rs 7,121 and for another variety at Rs 7,521, which is Rs 501 more than the previous MSP.
According to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, the welfare of farmers will be given priority in the third term of Prime Minister Modi. Which should be at least 1.5 times the cost price.
MSP of these crops also increased
The government has increased the minimum support price (MSP) of saffron crop. The minimum support price of jowar, paddy, millet, ragi, maize, pigeon pea, moong, urad, groundnut, sunflower, soybean and sesame has been increased. Now the minimum support price of jowar is Rs 3371, paddy Rs 2300, millet Rs 3625, ragi Rs 4290, maize Rs 2225, tur Rs 7550, moong Rs 8682, urad Rs 7400, groundnut Rs 6783, sunflower Rs 7280, soybean Rs 4892. Rupee and sesame has become Rs 9267.
