The wait for Lok Sabha election dates is now over. Tomorrow i.e. Saturday at 3 pm, the Election Commission will announce the dates of Lok Sabha elections (Lok Sabha Election Full Schedule). It was told by the Election Commission of India that the Election Commission will organise a press conference on March 16 at 3 pm to announce the schedule of General Elections 2024 and some state assemblies.
The press conference will be live streamed on ECI's social media platforms.For this, the Election Commission has called a press conference at 3 pm. Before this, the Commission has held a meeting with the Election Commissioners. Today itself the new Election Commissioners Sukhbir Sandhu and Gyanesh Kumar have taken charge.
Elections can be held simultaneously in these four states also
Along with the Lok Sabha elections, elections can also be held in Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim in April/May. At the same time, elections are to be held in Maharashtra, Haryana and Jharkhand at the end of the year. The election programs will be announced during a press conference at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. The model code of conduct will come into force as soon as the elections are announced.
The tenure of the current Lok Sabha is ending on June 16
