Due to active monsoon in Punjab, there has been a drop in temperature. In a single day, the average temperature of Punjab has dropped by 6.5 degrees which is 3.3 degrees below normal. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in the coming two days.
According to the report, Amritsar received 19 mm rain, Ludhiana 2 mm, Pathankot 13.5 mm, Faridkot 1 mm rain, while Bathinda and Patiala also received rain. After a drop of 6.5 degrees in the average temperature in Punjab, Pathankot's temperature was recorded at 36.4 degrees. Whereas on Thursday evening the temperature in Amritsar, Punjab was 28.4 degrees.
13% less rain in Punjab from 1 to 12 July
According to IMD, from July 1 to 12, Punjab has received 13% less rainfall than normal. The biggest reason for this is that the winds are not able to create proper pressure between Himachal and Rajasthan.
Till now only 49.2 mm rain
Due to which Punjab and Haryana are receiving less rainfall than normal, but Rajasthan has recorded 35% more rainfall than normal. Talking about Punjab, normally the state receives 56.5 mm rainfall, but till now only 49.2 mm rainfall has been received.
