Telugu actor Posani Krishna Murali has been arrested by Andhra Pradesh Police in Hyderabad. The actor has been arrested from his house. Cases have been registered against him in many districts in the last few months. The complaint states that he made derogatory comments against Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan.
Andhra Pradesh Police arrested Telugu actor and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Posani Krishna Murali from Hyderabad for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and Minister Nara Lokesh.
A team of Andhra Pradesh Police arrested Posani Krishna Murali from his house in My Home Bhuja Apartments in Raidurg area of Hyderabad on Wednesday night. The actor objected to the police action. He was taken to Andhra Pradesh by road by the police team. In the last few months, police of various districts have registered cases against Posani.
Posani made objectionable remarks
In November 2024, the Crime Investigation Department (CID) in Andhra Pradesh registered a case against Posani on a complaint by Bandaru Vamsikrishna, leader of Telugu Yuvatha, the youth wing of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). The complainant said that Posani made false allegations and derogatory remarks against Chandrababu Naidu during a press conference in September last year. He alleged that the actor's comments tarnished the image of the Chief Minister.
Case was registered against Posani
A case has been registered against Posani under sections 111, 196, 353, 299, 341, 336 (3) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Earlier, on the complaint of some TDP leaders, a case was registered against Posani at the Rims police station in Kadapa district for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and IT Minister Nara Lokesh.
Shared derogatory post
Jana Sena leaders in Rajahmundry also lodged a complaint against Posani for allegedly making derogatory comments against Pawan Kalyan and his family members. Cases were registered against the actor in Kadapa, Chittoor, Tirupati, Anantapur, Palnadu and Bapatla.The coalition government of TDP, Jana Sena and BJP is taking action against YSRCP's social media activists and its supporters who posted derogatory content against TDP and Jana Sena leaders when YSRCP was in power.
Case was also filed against Ram Gopal Varma
Similar cases were also filed against controversial filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma for posting derogatory posts against Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan and Lokesh.
