Notices have been sent to 17 former Akali ministers including Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal. A copy of the order issued after the meeting of the Jathedars of the five Takhts held at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on August 30 has come to light. In which 17 former ministers including Sukhbir Badal have been asked to give their clarifications within 15 days.
In the letter issued by Shri Akal Takht Sahib, it is written that you are informed that on 30 August 2024, the meeting of 5 Sikh Sahibans was held in Shri Akal Takht Sahib. In which, being the Cabinet Minister of that time along with Shiromani Akali Dal, you are also equally responsible. For which you should give your explanation by personally appearing at Shri Akal Takht Sahib within 15 days.

In this notice along with Sukhbir Badal, Dr. Upinder Kaur, Adesh Pratap Singh Kairon, Gulzar Singh Ranike, Parminder Singh, Sucha Singh Langah, Janmeja Singh, Heera Singh, Sarwan Singh Phillaur, Sohan Singh, Daljeet Singh, Sikandar Singh Maluka, Bibi Jagir Kaur. This notice has been issued to Manpreet Singh Badal, Sharanjeet Singh, Surjeet Singh and Maheshindra Singh.
Know what is the whole matter?
During the time of Akali Dal government in Punjab, Sukhbir Badal was accused of granting pardon to Dera Sachcha Sauda Mukhi Ram Rahim, apart from appointing Sumedh Saini as DGP and not taking action in the case of sacrilege of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
Cabinet ministers from 2007 to 2017 should give their clarification
While announcing the verdict, Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh said that while being the Akali Dal chief and Deputy CM, Sukhbir Badal took some decisions which harmed the Panthak form. The Sikh sect suffered huge losses. Sikh cabinet ministers from 2007 to 2017 should also give their clarification.
