In Shri Achleshwar Dham fair in Gurdaspur, a person in Nihang Bana took his horse down in the holy lake and started bathing it. The person in Nihang Bana was accused of sacrilege for bathing in the lake. Giving information about the case, trustee Pawan Kumar said that a fair has been organized at this holy place on Navami-Dashami for thousands of years. During this time, Hindu and Sikh brotherhood come here to the lake.
Fishes were also killed in the lake
Pawan Kumar said that 2 days ago, mischievous elements put some poisonous substance in the lake, due to which all the fish in the lake died. An investigation is being conducted by the DC and other high officials and committee regarding this incident. The matter is yet to be settled that yesterday a person in Nihang Bana committed sacrilege by bathing a horse in the holy lake. The committee tried hard to stop the person, but he did not listen.
No police arrangements were seen in the fair
Pawan Kumar has also made serious allegations against the police in this holy temple regarding Navami Dashami. He said that there was no arrangement of any kind of police in this fair. As per the orders of the DC, the SSP was asked to file an FIR in the case of sacrilege. But after this incident, some people including Nihang Baba from a camp accepted their mistake in the matter of bathing the horse and came to the Guru's house and apologized.
Nihang's companions accepted the mistake
He said that his person had made a mistake in bathing the horse in the holy lake, after which the matter was closed without giving much importance to this matter. The fair should be completely ruined and an investigation should be done as to why the fishes died in the lake in the fair and why the horse was bathed in the lake in the fair. An attempt was made to start a fight in the name of religion in the fair.
Allegations against police too
Pawan Kumar said that during this incident, the surprising thing was that no officer including DSP, SSP reached the spot. Only the police station in-charge was present at the spot. He had sensed that the atmosphere in the fair could be spoilt a few hours before. He had called the SSP regarding this incident a few hours before the incident, but no officer picked up his call. After which he called the DSP and he assured to take action. There was no effect of the DSP taking action.
