Special Task Force (STF) raided 13 places including Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh. This raid is being conducted at the residences of Fazilka Drug Inspector Shishan Mittal and his family members. Police have frozen more than 20 bank accounts of the accused.
Case registered under NDPS Act
STF team has reached Bathinda, Mohali, Giddarbaha, Zirakpur and Fatehabad for investigation. According to the information, the accused has relations with big drug smugglers lodged in jail. After which the STF had registered a case against the accused under several sections including the NDPS Act. After which a search operation was conducted on Thursday. At the same time, the investigation of the matter is still going on.
It is being told that Shishan used to provide synthetic drugs to drug smugglers. At the same time, all the information will be shared after the search is completed.

More than 20 bank accounts frozen
ADGP STF Neelabh Kishore said that the police has frozen 24 bank accounts of the drug inspector and benami accounts opened in the name of relatives. A total of Rs 6.19 crore is deposited in these accounts. He told that the raid is still going on. Some bank lockers have also been found. However, when this raid is completed.
Foreign currency also recovered
Apart from this, 3 bank lockers have been seized. STF has also recovered about Rs 9 lakh in cash and foreign currency. Apart from this, huge assets acquired through illegal activities have been identified, including immovable property worth Rs 1.4 crore in Zirakpur.
Property worth crores made from drug smuggling money
According to the information, the accused has made property worth crores of rupees with the money of drug smuggling. Which will now be attached on the basis of initiative from STF.
