Ram Rahim gets relief from the High Court in case of objectionable remarks
Punjab and Haryana High Court has rejected the FIR lodged against Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim in the case of objectionable remarks on Guru Ravidas Maharaj and Sant Kabir Ji. An FIR was lodged in Patara, Jalandhar on 17 March 2023 in a case of hurting religious sentiments, which has now been rejected by the court.
Section 295-A for hurting religious sentiments was added in the case. After this, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh filed a petition in the High Court and appealed to cancel the FIR registered against him regarding a Satsang.
No concrete evidence in the case – High Court
Ram Rahim had commented on Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj in a satsang held about 7 years ago. When its video reached Ravidas Samaj of Jalandhar, Ravidas Tiger Force Punjab chief Jassi Talhan complained about the matter to Jalandhar Dehat Police. After investigation, the police had registered a case.
