The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain in 15 districts of Punjab. Last night, there was a change in the weather due to cold winds blowing at many places. Due to which monsoon may become active once again. Yellow alert has been issued in Jalandhar, Pathankot, Gurdaspur and Hoshiarpur.
Chance of rain in these districts
The Meteorological Department has also predicted rain in Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Mohali, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Sangrur, Mansa and Bathinda. On Monday, the average temperature in the state was recorded 2.1 degrees above normal.
According to the data released by the department, till evening 0.7 mm rainfall was recorded in Amritsar, 0.5 mm in Firozpur, 4 mm in Gurdaspur and 1 mm in Pathankot.
Whereas late night, apart from rain alert in East Malwa, flash alert was issued for Mansa, Sangrur, Barnala, Bathinda, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar, Moga, Jalandhar, Nawanshahr and Hoshiarpur.
Weather changed in Chandigarh
The weather has changed in Chandigarh. There has been good rain in many areas in the last 24 hours. Due to which people have got relief from the heat. The weather has become quite pleasant. The maximum temperature was recorded at 36.2 degrees, which was 3 degrees more than normal.
Similarly, the minimum temperature was 27.4 degrees. According to the Meteorological Department, today (Tuesday) will also be cloudy. It may rain in many areas. However, there is no warning of any kind. The situation is similar in Panchkula and Mohali, part of the Tricity. It has rained in both the areas. Along with this, there is also a possibility of rain today.
