Republic Day was celebrated with great pomp in Punjab. School students participated in it in different cities of Punjab. After which the government has declared a holiday on 27 January in private and government schools.

Jalandhar - Cabinet Minister Aman Arora has declared a holiday in all government/private schools and colleges of Jalandhar.
Amritsar - Holiday has been declared in all the schools participating in the Republic Day celebrations.
Tarn Taran – Holiday has been declared in all the schools by the Deputy Commissioner of Tarn Taran.
Nawanshahr – Holiday has been declared in all the schools of Nawanshahr.
Rupnagar – The chief guest who reached Rupnagar for the Republic Day celebrations has declared a holiday in all the schools.
Mohali – The Deputy Commissioner has declared a holiday in all the schools in Mohali on 27th January.
Fazilka – The chief guest who reached Fazilka for the Republic Day celebrations has declared a holiday in all the government/private schools and colleges.
Ferozepur – Holiday has been declared in all the schools in Ferozepur as well.
Abohar – The SDM in Abohar has declared a holiday in all the government/private schools and colleges.
Moga – Holiday has been declared in Moga on 27th January.
Barnala – The Deputy Commissioner has declared a holiday in all the schools.
