PM Modi to inaugurate longest sea bridge Atal Setu: The country's longest and modern sea bridge is ready. 'Atal Setu' connecting Mumbai to Navi Mumbai is the largest sea bridge in the country which is 22 kilometers long. It will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 12. With this, the distance from South Mumbai to Navi Mumbai will be covered easily. The full name of this bridge is-Atal Bihari Vajpayee Shivdi Nhavasheva Atal Setu. The biggest feature of this bridge is that the world's largest cargo ship can pass under it.Mumbai Police has imposed a speed limit on India's longest sea bridge to prevent "danger, obstructions and inconvenience to the public". Built at a cost of ₹18,000 crore, the MTHL bridge starts from Sewri in Mumbai and ends at Nhava Sheva in Uran taluka of Raigad district. Multi-axle heavy vehicles, trucks and buses heading towards Mumbai will not be allowed to enter the Eastern Freeway. These vehicles will have to use the Mumbai Port-Sivari exit for onward movement and take MBPT Road near 'Gadi Adda', he said.

Speed of 100 kmph
The maximum speed limit for four-wheelers on the Mumbai Trans Harbor Link (MTHL) will be 100 kmph, Mumbai Police said on Wednesday. There will be no entry for motorcycles, mopeds, three-wheelers, autos, tractors, animal-drawn vehicles and slow moving vehicles.
Only 20 minutes away
MTHL is a 6-lane sea link, spanning 16.50 kilometers on sea and 5.5 kilometers on land. Motorists will be able to cover the distance between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai in just 20 minutes, otherwise it takes 2 hours. Speed will be limited to 40 km per hour on the ascent and descent of the bridge.
Equipped with CCTV cameras
Vehicles like cars, taxis, light motor vehicles, minibuses and two-axle buses will have a speed limit of 100 kilometers per hour. Motorcycles, autorickshaws and tractors will not be allowed on the sea bridge. The bridge is equipped with 400 CCTV cameras with artificial intelligence.
Bridge edge sound barrier
The flamingo bird that comes to winter every year in the sea has also been taken into consideration. For this, a sound barrier has been installed on the side of the bridge. A view barrier has been installed to prevent photographs or videos of Bhabha Atomic Research Center from being taken from this bridge. Such lights have been installed that they fall only on the bridge and do not harm the marine creatures.
