Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVM) are being installed at railway stations in Punjab for the convenience of railway passengers to get unreserved tickets. 4 such machines have been installed at Ludhiana station. This decision has been taken in view of the increasing crowd of passengers.
Giving information, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Paramdeep Singh Saini said that this decision has been taken so that passengers do not face any problem in getting tickets and there is no rush.
Machines will be installed at these stations including Jalandhar
At the same time, after Ludhiana, new ATVM machines will also be installed at Jalandhar City, Jalandhar Cantt, Ferozepur Cantt, Dhandari Kalan, Phagwara, Beas, Amritsar, Pathankot, Pathankot Cantt, Jammu Tawi, Shaheed Captain Tushar Mahajan, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra railway stations.
Buying tickets will be easy
It is very easy to buy unreserved tickets from ATVM machine. The passengers will not have to stand in queues to buy unreserved tickets from the railway counter and will not have to face the problem of carrying change.
Smart card will have to be made
Saini said that to buy tickets, the passengers should contact the ATVM assistant or get their smart card made from the booking counter or can also get their travel ticket by making digital payment in a simple way by scanning the QR code.
This is how it will work
To buy tickets from ATVM, first of all the passenger can select the station for which he wants to buy the ticket by writing its name or by showing the map. After selecting the station, the passenger will have to select the class of the train in which he wants to travel. After this, the fare of the ticket will have to be paid.
After this, the printed ticket will come out of the machine. Passengers can also renew Monthly Season Ticket (MST) and take platform tickets from this machine. The passengers will be able to get their tickets easily by paying the actual price of the ticket.
