At least 27 people have died in a fire in a drug rehabilitation center in Iran. There are reports of 12 people being injured and more than 12 people are hospitalized.
The number likely to increase further
The capacity of the center is said to be around 40 people. All the injured have been admitted to the hospital. The cause of the fire has not been known yet. The number of deaths is expected to increase further.
Earlier in September, there was a fire in a car battery factory owned by Iran's Defense Ministry. Although there was no news of any casualty in the first incident, this time a very severe fire broke out. A large number of people were burnt to death. People have not even got a chance to go out.
The worst such incident occurred in January 2017 when at least 22 people, including 16 firefighters, died in a fire at the 15-storey Plasco Shopping Center in Tehran.
