The Supreme Court has given its verdict on the bail of former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia. The Supreme Court has granted bail to Manish Sisodia and now Sisodia will come out of jail after 17 months. Sisodia will have to pay a bond of Rs 10 lakh. Earlier, Manish Sisodia had challenged the decision of Delhi High Court in which his bail plea was rejected.
Under what conditions did Sisodia get bail?
According to the Supreme Court's decision, Sisodia will have to surrender his passport, which means Sisodia cannot leave the country. Manish Sisodia will have to appear in the police station every Monday. Let us tell you that Sisodia had to stay in jail for about 17 months. But in between he was granted parole due to his wife's ill health.
Sisodia's bail plea was rejected several times before
28 April 2023: Rouse Avenue Court rejected the bail plea in the ED case.
31 March 2023: Bail plea rejected in CBI case.
July 3, 2023: Delhi High Court rejects bail plea in ED case.
30 May 2023: Delhi High Court rejects the bail plea in the CBI case.
30 October 2023: The Supreme Court had refused to grant bail in the ED case.
Manish Sisodia was detained from 26 February 2023 in the Delhi liquor scam case
The CBI had arrested Sisodia on February 26, 2023, for his alleged involvement in irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy. After which ED arrested him on March 9, 2023 in a money laundering case related to the CBI FIR. Manish Sisodia resigned from the Delhi Cabinet on February 28, 2023.
