Jalandhar's Model Town police, while taking action in a fraud case at Fortune Hotel, have arrested 15 accused including 3 girls. It is alleged that he had committed fraud of lakhs of rupees in the name of sending money abroad. After receiving the complaint, the police took action against the accused and arrested the accused from Fortune Hotel.
Joint Commissioner Sandeep Sharma said that Model Town Police had received a complaint yesterday in a cheating case that he was cheated of Rs 3 lakh 80 thousand in the name of sending him on a foreign tour. Acting on the complaint, 15 accused including 3 women have been arrested from Fortune Hotel. The accused belongs to Madhya Pradesh, UP and Haryana. Rs 1 lakh 90 thousand have been recovered from the possession of the accused.
Sandeep Sharma further said that the victim told in the complaint that he had opened a company named CMGBPL for tour packages abroad. He became suspicious about the company when he researched it on the internet. During this time he became suspicious when he did not see anything about the company on the internet. After which he contacted his relative regarding the office mentioned by the said company.
Asked to find out about the company. When his relative went to the office of the said company, he found it locked. During this time, when he inquired about the office from the neighbourhood, he came to know that the police had also come to that office several times. After which he became convinced that he too had been cheated. After which he filed a complaint against the accused in Model Town police station.
