The court has acquitted 12 people including Aam Aadmi Party MLA Sheetal Angural from Jalandhar West in the case. A case was registered against 12 people including nominated MLA Sheetal Angural, his brother Rajan Angural and BJP leader Pradeep Khullar in connection with the protest near the Police Commissioner's office. This dharna was organized by Sheetal Angural while he was in BJP.
In the case, AAP MLA Sheetal Angural, Bhai Rajan Angural, BJP leader Pradeep Khullar resident of Shastri Nagar, Tarsem Singh, Mintu, Mahendra Bhagat, Raman Gill, Ashu Ghai, Anil Sonkar, Vinod Bhagat, Sonu Dinkar, Sanjay Kalra were arrested by the court due to lack of evidence. I was acquitted.
The case was registered on 9 May 2017 by police station Nai Baradari. In the case registered, it was said that MLA Sheetal Angural along with his 15-20 colleagues reached the public gate to submit the application to the Police Commissioner Jalandhar. Due to which people had to face a lot of problems.
The police had alleged that only seven-eight people were allowed inside to lodge complaints. But, they all wanted to go inside. Due to which they staged a protest outside the gate. A case was registered against him for this.
