The sale of liquor has been banned for two days in village Maisarkhana in Bathinda district of Punjab. DC Shauk Ahmed Pare has imposed this ban on 9 and 10 October under Section 54 of the Punjab Excise Act 1914.
During this period, orders have been given to stop the sale of liquor within the boundary of village Maisarkhana. No person will be allowed to keep and sell liquor in the village Maisarkhana of the district during these two days.
According to the information, a religious fair is being organized in village Maisarkhana under Tehsil Maud of the district from 9 to 10 October 2024. Keeping this in mind, people can use alcohol and drugs during the fair, which can spoil the atmosphere of the fair and can also hurt the religious sentiments of devotees and common people. Keeping this in mind, this decision has been taken.
