An incident of firing has been reported in Jalandhar over a land dispute. There is an atmosphere of panic among the family members and villagers due to this incident. However, 6 hours after the incident, the police took action and arrested the accused along with weapons.
The victim Baldev Singh said that at 9 am he and his entire family were at home, when more than 10 armed men entered his house and started threatening him. When he was talking to them about forcefully entering the house, 2 of them fired 5 to 6 bullets inside his house. Hearing the sound of bullets, an atmosphere of panic was created in the entire village.
He further said that at gunpoint they took the entire family including women and their children to a room and held them hostage and by threatening them, got their thumb impressions on a blank paper and also got them to sign on the said paper. The armed attackers kept roaming in the house for more than half an hour and kept searching all the belongings.
They took away with them the documents they found inside the house, mobile phones of all the family members as well as their tractor and plough. Some attackers stood outside the house with weapons so that the villagers could not come forward to help us. After the attackers left, the villagers informed the local police about the incident.
The frightened family members told them that they had seen only Baljeet, Harry and Billa. The family says that if other armed men come forward, they can identify them. After getting the information, Inspector Sanjeev Kapoor succeeded in arresting 7 to 8 attackers who opened fire in just 6 hours.
