The Ganga river is flowing above the danger mark in many areas of the Bihar capital. The Patna district administration has decided to keep 76 government schools in rural areas closed till September 26. This decision has been taken to ensure the safety of students and teachers during a flood-like situation.
Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar on Monday directed the district education officials that a total of 76 schools in 8 villages of Patna district will remain closed due to rising water level of Ganga. Initially, the Patna district administration had ordered the schools to remain closed till September 21.
However, due to no improvement in the situation, the decision has now been extended to ensure safety.
Schools will remain closed in these areas
The areas of Patna where schools have been closed include Ramnagar Diara Panchayat of Athmalgola, Ibrahimpur of Barh block, Chiraiya Rupsar of Bakhtiyarpur, Hardaspur Diara, Kala Diara, Rupas Mahaji, Akilpur of Danapur block, Ganghara, Hetanpur, Madhavpur, Kasimchak, Manas, Panapur, Patlapur, Haiwaspur, Momindpur of Fatuha block, Ganghara, Patlapur of Maner block, Shivnagar of Mokama block and Nakata Tola Diara of Patna Sadar block.
81 schools of Khagaria will remain closed for the whole week
At the same time, 86 schools in the areas affected by the floods of Ganga and Gandak rivers in Khagaria district will remain closed this whole week. Earlier, 56 schools of the district were closed for September 26. Now again, on the basis of the BEO report, an order has been issued to close studies in 25 more schools surrounded by floods.
The DM has extended the period of closure of flood-affected schools to 28 September. The 25 schools that have been closed in the new order include 6 schools of Khagaria block, 9 of Parbatta, 1 of Gogri, 7 of Chautham and 2 of Mansi.
