Punjab Civil Medical Services Association (PCMSA) doctors have called off the strike. The Punjab government has accepted all the demands of the doctors without any conditions. In this regard, PCMSA says that their meeting with the Punjab government took place in a good atmosphere. The government has accepted all the demands.
It is worth noting that all the doctors across Punjab were on strike for the last 6 days. During this time, patients were facing a lot of problems. However, today the doctors showed some leniency in their strike. Doctors were present in the OPD during the strike.
Meeting with the Health Minister
Let us tell you that today Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh held a meeting with the doctors in Punjab Bhawan. During this, the doctors reached an agreement with the government. The Health Minister has said that the issue of safety of doctors will be resolved in a week.
At the same time, doctors will be recruited and all the vacant posts will be filled. Along with this, he said that patients will not be allowed to face any kind of trouble. At the same time, it has been decided to extend the OPD by 2 hours on Monday and Tuesday.
Doctors had divided the strike into 3 phases
The first phase was from 9 to 11 September. During this time, OPD services were closed from 8 am to 11 am. The second phase will be from 12 to 15 September. In which OPD services have been completely closed. The third phase will be after 16 September. In this, doctors will clearly refuse to do medical legal along with OPD.
These are the demands of the doctors
- Old anti-people decisions should be withdrawn
- Health workers should be given a safe environment
- Permanent recruitments should be made in the health department
- Government doctors should be promoted.
